I finished Y: The Last Man. MAN, my mind is blown. It was such a great comic series. 500 thumbs up. Even if you are not into comics I urge you to read it. My goal this summer is to read a book a week.
So far I have read.
Week 1: Possible Side Effects By Augusten Burroughs
This is the first book by him I didn't like. I read Dry, Wolf at the Table, and Running with Scissors and liked it, but this just did not cut it.
Week 2: Watchmen by Alan Moore
I am usually a really big fan of dystopian societies and this was no different. I liked it but wasn't like OMG STOP THE WORLD FOR THIS like everyone else is.
Week 3: Vol. 7 of Y: The Last Man by Brian K. Vaughan and Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov
I have been wanting to read Lolita for a long time but felt like a perv. This time I swallowed by pride and got it. It was excellent, the writing style was unique. It was a little flowery but necessary.
Week 4: Vol 8,9, 10 of Y: The Last Man by Brian K. Vaughan and Futureproof by N. Frank Daniels
Futureproof was pretty wack I thought. It was like DRUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGS. I get it drugs are bad but the whole plot surrounded drugs. I didn't even care about the main character.
Y: THE LAST MAN HOWEVER IS AMAZING.
Now people of my LJ (both of you that actually read it) what should my next read be?
NO MEMOIRS. I am so sick of crappy childhoods.
In other news, I met Steven's family. They were very nice and Catholic. They liked me and I liked them.
I also met his ex-girlfriend NOT PLEASANT. SHE STARED INTO THE DEPTHS OF MY SOUL.
I also went to church today and it was really nice. I kinda missed it.
I leave for Texas August 4th. I still have not found out about my roommates.
AWESOME.
